Dianna Grey joins the Strategic Housing Finance Corporation of Travis County as Interim Executive Director

The Strategic Housing Finance Corporation of Travis County (SHFC) is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Dianna Grey as its interim Executive Director, following a competitive recruitment and search process that started in Fall of 2023.

Ms. Grey, who began her work on behalf of SHFC on January 3rd, has extensive experience in affordable housing issues. She most recently served as Homeless Strategy Officer for the City of Austin. She previously held roles as Director of the Texas Program for the Corporation for Supportive Housing, Program Director for the Enterprise Community Loan Fund, and Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Austin. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II and Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Masters in Public Affairs from The Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

"Affordable housing has become the number one issue facing most urban communities in America today, including Austin-Travis County. It is paramount that area housing providers be focused, creative and resourceful to address the issue of housing insecurity adequately. Dianna Grey, in her new role as SHFC Interim Executive Director will continue to advance the expansion and preservation goals of affordable housing for this community as she has done very effectively for more than 25 years," said Patrick B. Howard, the Executive Director and CEO of the Housing Authority of Travis County.

Ruby Roa, an advocate with Austin Women in Housing, welcomed the Board's selection of Ms. Grey. "This is the time to have someone like Dianna Grey working for the people of Travis County.  She is transparent, compassionate and empathetic and knows what she is doing.  Serving the families of Travis County is not just a job for her, it is consistent with her values.  Travis County needs Dianna in this job,” said Ms. Roa.

"I am quite grateful to be entrusted with the role of SHFC's Interim Executive Director. I'm thrilled to be joining SHFC at this dynamic juncture, and I will work hard to position our organization to deliver increased high-quality affordable housing for our neighbors in Travis County," said Grey.

The Strategic Housing Finance Corporation is a Chapter 394 Local Government Code Corporation focused on preserving and expanding affordable housing in Central Texas. Created in 2004 by the Travis County Commissioners Court, SHFC has helped finance a portfolio of close to 5,000 affordable housing units throughout Travis County.
