The Strategic Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) is governed by a board of directors who are committed to increasing the supply of quality affordable housing for individuals and families of moderate and lower incomes in Travis County, Texas. Our board members are leaders in the community with diverse backgrounds and experiences. They bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in various fields including finance, real estate development, community engagement, and government affairs.

Our 7-member Board, appointed by the Travis County Commissioners Court, plays a crucial role in shaping the future of affordable housing in our community. They are dedicated to creating inclusive communities that stabilize families and work tirelessly to ensure that SHFC's mission is being fulfilled. They provide oversight, guidance and support to the staff in their efforts to provide funding, property tax exemptions and partnerships to private developers and non-profit organizations to create sustainable and inclusive housing solutions.

Julio Gonzalez

Julio Gonzalez

President

Julio Gonzalez Altamirano is the Managing Director at Charm, where he helps develop data science applications for professional service firms. He has worked in management consulting and enterprise software for the past 15 years. He is passionate about housing, decarbonization, and infrastructure. Julio is a recipient of a "Best of Austin" award from the Austin Chronicle for civic-oriented data analysis. He is a graduate of Yale and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He lives in Austin, Texas. Julio was appointed in the Spring of 2022 and serves on the Real Estate Committee.

Jan Wenig

Jan Wenig

Vice President

Jan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of service to disadvantaged populations. Since earning a Masters Degree in Social Work from UT she has worked with refugee populations, served as National Director of organizing for Stand for Children in Washington, DC, and in 2016 was named Social Worker of the year by Central Texas VA for her work with Austin City Council, Austin Energy and the VASH program to provide reduced utility bills to newly housed Veterans. After retiring in 2022, Jan expanded her volunteer work with organizations supporting survivors of trauma, and nonprofits dedicated to protecting and restoring the natural and human environment. She currently serves on the Governance, Finance, & Admin and HR committees.

Kecia Prince

Director

Kecia Prince is a homemaker who has a diverse professional background. She has previously worked as a bus operator at Capitol Metro, as well as for Rosy's and New Hope Health Case as a home health aide. Kecia's true passion lies in working with the elderly and disabled individuals, where she finds fulfillment in making a positive impact on their lives. With an associate's degree in Liberal Arts from Skyline College in San Bruno, CA, obtained in 1988, and 1600 hours of cosmetology training, Kecia is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications. Her goal is to obtain a teaching certificate and teach elementary school until retirement. Outside of her professional pursuits, Kecia enjoys cooking, reading, and volunteering. She finds joy in preparing delicious meals, immersing herself in books, and dedicating her time to support various causes.

Lisa Rheams

Lisa Rheams, a resident of Austin, Texas for nearly 25 years, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration specializing in entrepreneurship and an Associates in Business Management. Over the past two years, she has dedicated her time to volunteering and leading the Steering Committee and Tenants Association at Rosemont at Oak Valley. Lisa's primary focus lies with the SFHC of the city council, where she finds fulfillment in making a difference and supporting residents. Passionate about helping others through challenging situations, such as misunderstandings, miscommunications, uninhabitable living conditions, and homelessness, Lisa takes pride in her roles and the progress made by residents and directors alike. Currently serving as Vice President for the Strategic Financial Housing Corporation, Lisa is an AIU graduate and an active AIU Alumni member. During her free time, she cherishes moments spent with her children, assisting them in planning for the future, and helping individuals comprehend their situations and available resources. With a strong commitment to advocating for fair and healthy living conditions, Lisa brings her expertise to SFHC, where she has been involved for two years, serving as Vice President for one year and contributing to the Tenants Association for three years.

DeLea Becker, Founder/Broker at Beck-Reit Commercial Real Estate, brings 17 years of experience in Leasing, Buying, Selling, and renovating commercial properties across Texas, particularly in Central Texas and Austin. Recognized for her achievements, she's been awarded titles like "Entrepreneur of the Year" and "Commercial Broker of The Year" by reputable organizations such as CREW, National Association of Realtors, and more. With a commitment to her company's mission of fostering business growth and wealth building, DeLea is a notable figure in the Commercial Real Estate landscape. She holds a degree from the University Of Texas and resides in Downtown Austin.
